So the NFL succumbed to… beer pressure.

JON STEWART, on reports that the Minnesota Vikings reversed their decision to not suspend child abuser Adrian Peterson only after major league sponsor Anheuser Busch said they were “not yet satisfied” with how the NFL handled the case, on The Daily Show.

Stewart adds, “How crazy is this — a company that sells alcohol is the moral touchstone of the NFL… Maybe one of the only substances that is proven scientifically to increase the likelihood of domestic abuse — that company is saying to the NFL, ‘You’ve got a real problem here.”

Yep.

Questions you should ask yourself about your Strong Female Character. From this excellent article: http://t.co/efkvvUqsum

Does she have one or two genuine, real-life flaws that make her a real person, not issues that turn her into a mess just when she’s needed most?  Has she a fear or phobia, an enemy, obligations elsewhere?  Has she been a lone wolf up till now and must learn to be part of a team, or has she been in charge for so long that she can’t adjust to someone else being in charge?  (Or, upon being placed in charge, is she so timid about it that someone else takes over to the detriment of the team, and she realizes it’s her fault for not taking over when she was given the job, and she must do so now, hard and fast?)

"This isn’t all about just one man killed in one town. It’s about how people of color, no matter their socio-economic standing face obstacles in this country with surprising grace. Imagine that on a pretty consistent basis you can’t get a fucking cab, even though you’re a neurosurgeon, because you’re black.

Race is there and it is a constant. You’re tired of hearing about it? Imagine how fucking exhausting it is living it.”

Have I said how much I love John Stewart?

Thank you, John Stewart.  Again.
